Thunderstorms Over the Great Lakes and Northern Plains

Written by WeatherOps | Jun 17, 2014 5:52:21 PM

Thunderstorms are currently moving across the Great Lakes. While these thunderstorms are not severe, severe thunderstorms are possible later this afternoon as daytime heating continues to destabilize the atmosphere. As thunderstorms develop, large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible. Further west across the Northern High Plains, plentiful low level moisture and upslope flow will allow for the development of thunderstorms across the Dakotas. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible with any storms that form.
