Moderate Risk of Severe Weather for Portions of the Plains

There is a moderate risk of severe weather for today for portions of the Plains and Mid Mississippi River Valley ahead of a shortwave trough. Strong shear across the region will allow for supercells capable of producing large hail and tornadoes, however, the more prominent threat will be damaging winds.
