Showers and thunderstorms will continue today for portions of the East Coast, Midwest, Mid and Lower Mississippi Valley, and the Western Gulf Coast. Flooding will continue for portions of the Southeast.

A cold front that has been moving through the Plains will slow down as it moves toward the Gulf Coast and across the Southeast. Flooding will be possible for portions of southern and eastern Texas into the central Mississippi River Valley, where moisture will continue to move northward from the Gulf of Mexico. While widespread severe weather is not expected, general thunderstorms will be possible from Texas and into the Mid Atlantic. There is a slight chance of severe thunderstorms across the Ohio River Valley and Southern Great Lakes.
