Showers and thunderstorms are possible on Friday for portions of Florida. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Western US.
By Friday morning, showers and thunderstorms will be ongoing across the Gulf Coast and into Florida as a low in the Gulf of Mexico lifts northeastward. Cloud cover will limit destabilization, limiting the severe potential. Low level wind shear may be sufficient for a risk of severe thunderstorms into Friday evening. The main risk across the region will be flooding due to heavy rain.
An upper level trough tracking through the Southwest will generate showers and thunderstorms across the Western US. Light amounts of snow will be possible across the Intermountain West.
WDT preferred forecast for rainfall through 7AM CDT Saturday
